This marks the end of an era. The tools I’ve used for the last few years are going up for sale. We’ve had many a great times together, Computer and Camera. You’ve worked very well for me, and you’ve provided me with the means to capture and distribute my sass across the interbone. I reluctantly bid you farewell, and hope you fall into the hands of somebody who will use you for good and/or evil. (Either way is ok with me)

Today, I had a most unpleasant experience at the doctors office. I had some needles jabbed in my person for upwards of 30 straight minutes. It’s the first time I’ve ever said the “F” word in a doctors office, unless you count every other time I’ve been in a doctors office when I’ve received my bill.

Goodbye, Bonky.

As you may or may not know by now. My cat, the interbone sensation, “BonkBonkBonkBonk!” very unexpectedly passed away.

I suppose I’ll go into a bit more detail here about what exactly happened. Tessa and I went out on our Sunday afternoon shenanigans, namely shopping, eating, shopping and eating some more like we do pretty much every Sunday. We were out probably no longer than 3 hours. We returned home, and for some reason I head straight back into my office, I think I was wanting to pet Bonky as we’d recently groomed and bathed him. So he was bound to be extra soft and awesome. Anyway, I get into my office, and I see poor bonky, laying unusually still at the base of my desk. Somehow, I just knew. Something wasn’t right.. Bonky was in trouble.

I walked over, and slowly moved my chair away from where he was laying, he didn’t move at all. Then I saw his face. I just knew. There were things that used to be on my desk scattered around him, and there he lay... gone.

Tessa and I rushed him to the vet. Holding on to any hope we could possibly find in our minds. But he was gone.

We can only theorize about what actually happened to him. We think maybe he had some kind of freak accident, possibly completely or partially missed my desk while trying to jump up. Maybe it was something else, maybe he was on my desk when something happened to him, maybe a heart attack. It’s really hard to say. We didn’t think about ordering an autopsy until it was too late.

The grief we felt was unbearable. I felt lost, confused, anger, guilt... I felt empty.

As hard as it was to do, Tessa and I decided that night to make a video letting everybody know what had happened. That was the hardest video I’ve ever made. We knew lots of people really liked watching Bonky, but we had no idea how much he meant to so many people.

The response and outpouring of love and support from the entire interbone was really overwhelming. When all said and done, between profile comments, pm’s, and video comments, we’ve received well over 2000 letters from people telling us how much Bonky meant to them. They continue to roll in and we’ve flat out lost count.

He truly was an amazing cat.

I honestly can’t remember ever being sadder. Thank you everybody for all your support. You’ve really helped Tessa and I.

So to Bonky, it’s been just over two weeks since you left us. I miss you more than I can express. I think somehow you knew how awesome you were. How special you were in life and death. While you were here I called you a pet, but now that you’re gone I know you were so much more than that. You were my friend, my boy, my quadruple Bonk. And you will never be forgotten.

So, I’ve never been much for actually blogging. But I think I’ll give this a shot. Maybe by putting my thoughts down onto “paper” it will inspire me to get back into vlogging. I imagine that I’ll be writing a bit about Bonky, and his unexpected passing. God I miss him.

I suspect that I’ll be fairly self deprecating in my writings. Cuz sometimes making fun of yourself is funner than making fun of dorks. (You can shout “DORK!” at dorks!)

Tessa and I have started a diet to reduce our environmental fingerprints. And of course my environmental fingerprints I mean bellies and boo-tangs. Plus you poop less when you eat less. And that’s probably good for the environment. Tessa looks great already, her involvement is mostly supportive. I however need to lose more than you weigh. Yes you, even if your fat my statement holds true.

Fact is, I’m a master of camera angles, and so people can’t really tell what I look like in my videos, but trust me my interbonian friends, I am no kind of skinny. My arm is bigger than your leg. Yep. YOUR leg.

I’m disappointed in myself, no not because of my central bulbousness, but because I noticed the little red “you spelled this word wrong line” under the word “interbonian” and then got frustrated that spell check didn’t offer me the correct spelling for interbonian. “No guesses found” even?! For shame spell check.

For shame.
